Trail Description:
A wonderful network of marked trails. In the winter this area is a great cross country ski area, but it more resembles hiking trails than ski trails. A great selection of varying terrain that travel up and down the Niagara Escarpment. You can get a trail map from the Ravenna General Store, 5 km north of Kolapore. Proceeds from the sale of maps go towards trail maintenance.

How to get there:
Hwy 10 north through Orangeville to Hwy 24 north to Singhampton, turn left on Hwy 4 then right on Grey Road 2. Continue past Feversham to Kolapore. The trails start on the left side across from the gravel parking lot.

Here's the deal, a biker doesn't sue a car cause they fell off trying to get around on the road. Common Sense (and the law) says stay right except to pass. If everyone (bikers, skiers hikers and anyone else on the trails) followed that one simple rule there would be no bickering or law suites. Let’s not lose our trails due to childish stupidity, didn't your momma teach you to share...

Enough about who should and shouldn't be riding these trails. It is a good trail system for mountain biking, and i just got back from a nice 2 hour ride around the loop that goes through Metcalfe Rock. I often ride Three Stage which is in the same area, and i would say Three Stage is much more physically demanding, so if you are looking for a tougher ride, go there. That being said, Kolapore has some nice rocky sections and quick downhills. Look out for the loop that goes all the way down to 6th Sideroad, because it is rarely ridden and it is extremely overgrown. Stick to the trails closer to Metcalfe Rock and the higher altitudes, unless you are looking for a long ride back.

K, i have a few things to say. I live down the road from Kolapore and the trail runs right on through a big part of my property so i need a say in this all. I don't care if ur a skier, hiker, fourwheeler, dirtbiker, or even a snowmobiler, just dont be wrecking the land, its there for us to use, not abuse. Who ever wants to come up from the city and go for a run, go ahead just dont vandalize or critisize anyone for being there, its something called public land u f*cking skiier that b*tched about the bikers. If u have a problem with the bikers, go back home u little p*ssy and cry to mommy and daddy. I am a local from this area since i was born. There has been changes and changes over the years but i have one question, how in the f*ck are the bikers messing up the ski trails if there is 2 feet of snow covering the ground? That *ss that sewed everybody needs to get a life, its just like saying, "mommy, i got a booboo on my arm so i'm running away, can i have 10 bucks tho?" Except h

Great trails and beautiful scenary. Mountain bikers should stay off the trails in the winter and let the skiers do thier thing. Bikers who try to bike in the snow are not considerate.... About that case, I've heard that the guy broke his back. If the guy won the court hearing thing, it means that he's going to win something at the trial, just a question of how much. If the province is on the hook how come they don't just throw some bucks at him and make it go away? If we lose the trial, the trails will probably be shut down. The government pays the indians millions when they occupy building sites or block roads.

first thing - these trails were designed by skiers, built by skiers, and maintained by skiers. mountain bikes just showed up, chewed things up, and a biker is now suing us. as someone who spends 5 full days a year on trailwork, i can assure you that cyclists contribute very little. as for the comment by konarider that the lawsuit will fail, guess again. our appeal for summary judgement failed, and we expect to go to trial shortly. since the province is involved there will not be a jury, only a judge. too lazy to haul your ass out for the fall workdays? then make a donation in the red metal box at the parking lot. the insurance costs 4 grand a year, and without it we would have to remove all 41 bridges. the costs will increase in the future.

an excellent system of trails. I mountain bike in the summer and x-country ski them in the winter, I don't know whythe skier was complaining, I have never seen trail damage due to bikers in the winter. as for the lawsuit issue, everyone knows that the biker is going to lose, he has no case. I love these trails, and their conveineint location, for me at least. (I live in Collingwood)

Why is a skier reading a mtb page? I could have the same argument... These are bike trails...stay off skiers! I am a MTBiker that respect the environment and others. I never leave any garbage in a trail, I don't ride with it's wet since it will damage the trail, and I always say hi to hikers and other bikers. So be nice and respect others, we can all use the trail and enjoy.

Grow up...This is a country for freedom, and lawyers and bankers are trying their best to make it a Dictatorship! You slap a law suit because you don't have the common sense to adjust your speed while riding! You're a fuc kin' goof! I guess you should slap a suit on your 8th grade teacher for giving you that "F" too....face it, you didn't know how to divide fractions...deel with it.....just like you don't know how to ride a bike....deal with it! Closed to ATV's now.....what's next? I'll tell you....bikes are next..then skiers and then hikers, because another Dumba ss will twist his ankle in someother guys foot prints that were made during a rain! It's obvious why this great country is falling apart....people who refuse to use common sense and accept their own responsibility are doing what ever they can to prove it wasn't their fault! No matter who suffers! Use common sense, don't pass the buck, look at yourself instead of looking at m
