Trail Description:
This trail is great if you are a beginner because it gives you a chance to get use to spinning those pedals. Nothing here is very technical and this is an extremely fast ride because of the rolling terrain and lack of any serious climbs. This is also a great trail for the experienced rider to work on braking into and powering out of turns because there are a lot of them and some come up really fast. This a great ride for a group because you can really push each other to maximum speeds.

How to get there:
Take 71 west from Austin to county road 413. Take a right on 413 and follow the road until you see a sign that says Windsor, take a left and the road dead ends into the Muleshoe Bend state park. Pay $5.00, park on your left and the trail starts by the parking lot with a sign that shows the trail direction (one way).

Great trail. Dont believe the rating... this trail has its difficult spots.

This trail can be deceiving to the inexperienced. The first few miles are very fast and easy, but the latter half gets more technical and difficult. In particular, there are 2 or 3 rather high rock ledges that'll force you to portage your bike if you're not the best of technical climbers. Beyond that, the trail is a blast to ride...watch the long stretches of loose rock. An average rider should be able to do a single loop in under 45min. The more experienced types can probably get closer to 30.

Tis not a beginners trail however, it does give the beginner as opportunity to work on some ticky areas like riding in sand and small loose pebbles. There are a few areas where you'll have to get off the bike or endo but all in all, this is a wonderful ride but is an intermediate ride that can also be great for the advanced rider too.

I found the trail to be alot of fun there was a lot of down hill fast turning a great trail for beginners and an awsome tral for the expert biker I particularly enjoyed riding the sandy parts of the trail on it allows for fast and tighter turning! on the whole Gary and I think it is a fun trail to take a group out to on a sunny day.

I find muleshoe to be a fairly fast, fun single track ride for all skill levels I particularly enjoyed some of the sandy areas on the trail which allowed for great traction on some of the sharp turns.

Great rolling singletrack, well-maintained, lots of different soil, very fast, lots of tight turns and lots of trees. Great for singlespeeds; as good as tight rolling singletrack gets -- would get 5 gears if way out in the wilderness.

This trail is not a beginners trail (Town Lake Hike and Bike). Great trail, just should be listed as intermediate.

Great trail, but be warned there are a couple of technical spots. Nothing too major, just be prepared to 'hike-a-bike' as they are a little too much for beginners. Otherwise, one great trail as long as it's dry (rain makes the rocks very slippery).
