Trail Description:
The first half mile is fairly steep. The climbing gets a little better after the stream crossing. After 2 miles of climbing, the trail flattens out. At 5 miles, you'll reach the water tower. At the watertower, follow the pavement turning right and head towards more singletrack that leads to the ridge. After .75 miles of fun rolling singletrack, you'll begin to descend. .3 miles more and turn right at the trail marker and head down into the canyon. Look out for the steep and tight switchbacks. This trail will take you down some fun rollercoaster singletrack, cross over where you climbed up and continue down to the creek crossing and back to the car.

How to get there:
Exit 101 at Shetfield, turn right and head towards the hills. Turn left onto 192 and then take a quick right onto Romero Canyon Road. At the fork, keep right and wind your way up the road. Turn right at the next intersection and park by the red gate.

this trail is pretty dank. its the only trail in Santa Barbaraon the frontside that is climbable besides jesusita.take the Fireroad all the way up, and the ST all the way down. all frontside SB trails are 'bellzones' on the descent, carry a noisemaking device and use sound off for hikers.freeridebiketours.com

One of my favorites. Long climb rewarded with some of the best views of SB and the backcountry. Moderately tech ST back down, some big exposure. Watch those deadman curves your first time.
