Trail Description:
The Land of the Pioneers Trail winds 11 miles primarily through ponderosa pine forest. A short spur trail heads up to the top of Ecks Mountain. Make the extra effort to witness the Excellent views of the surrounding countryside. Follow the Land of the Pioneers Trail #629.

How to get there:
From Flagstaff, head East 93 miles on I-40 to Holbrook. At Hwy 77, head South to Show Low, 57 miles. From Show Low, go east on Hwy 60 towards Springerville. Drive 19.4 miles. Turn right in front of the Midway Exxon Gas station on FR 224 towards Vernon. Drive 5.3 miles to FR 5. Turn right on FR 5. Drive .6 miles to the trailhead on the right.

The nearest town is Vernon, bring water, USDA Forest Service, Lakeside Ranger District at 520.368.5111
