Trail Description:
The original description of this route can from Dirtworld's Santo Criscuolo (http://www.dirtworld.com/archives/archive%5Fepic.asp). Do Crystal Mountain, Palisades, and Sun Top routes in one day, well sort of. I'm not aware of anyone that's added in Skookum Flats/White River to formally complete all three loops in one day. From Buck Creek cross hwy 410 and take White River trail to FS 7174 and head right/downhill .25 mile and turn left on FS 7176. Gain 500' or so and eventually turn left on the Crystal Mountain Parkway pavement. Go ride the Crystal Mountain trail loop and return on this path. When you get back to fs 7174 head uphill to Dalles Ridge and do the Palisades trail ride. Be careful on the switchbacks! Ride westbound down hwy 410 to the Dalles Ridge campround and fill up with water and take the trail at the end of the camping area to road 74 and head uphill and do the Sun Top ride. End up back at the Buck Creek trailhead before dark and you've done it! Elevation is debatable, but probably about 11,000' is conservative.

How to get there:
Take Washington SR 410 eastbound about 15 miles past Greenwater. One possible staging area is the Buck Creek Road trailhead.

Additional Notes:
Preride each route prior to attempting this unless you are an endurance professional. This may be th

we'll be starting off from elhrmust and riding the trail clockwise. was planning to mostly camp where ever convenient with a few hotel nights to recharge things and cleanup. i don't want to stink too bad. food will probably mostly consist of fast food or what ever gas station or delli is around. i'll have a few snacks packed and will resupply along the way. i'll be posting the trip online atleast after the ride telling of the experience. i can let you know more as the dates get closer but so far i haven't planned too much out. i kind of work on the fly. i have the book and maps with a lot of suggested stops an such. should be a good time.

We did this loop before it was called the triple crwon. On our version we climbed up to the summit house first and went down Northway then went up Coral, down palisades then suntop and back up to the Crystal parking lot.

The CC Triple Crown is a real ride. I first completed it with Wayne Grevey and Keith Rollins back in 1997. Creamy smooth single track, wicked climbs, inspiring scenery... if you can complete this ride in a single day, you can ride almost any where.

We did Crystal Mt. loop... well, backwards that is. Read a version of a map that said to go up the roads, and down the back side. Word of advice, go up the back and down the front. A hell of a ride none the less!

We did the Sun Top portion today, WOW! The view is a mind blow you feel you can reach out and touch Mt. Rainer. We shuttled up to the top of Sun Top then rode down to the Ranger Creek air field, out HWY 410 back to our bottom car at FS 73. Some guy in a Cessna even crashed his airplane right in front of us, at the air field, lucky he wasn't killed, the plane was destroyed. This is the best single track I've ever ridden...period. Just do it! You won't be sorry.

5 of us did this one yesterday. Came out at about 12+K and about 53 miles. We rode from Buck creek up the paved road to Crystal and then back to Corral via 7176. Up Corral/down Palisades then up/Down Sun Top back to Buck Creek. One rider completed it in 11:45 and the rest of us were about 30-40 minutes behind. Brutal never do it again ride. but, what an adventure!

Its duable. I busted Suntop and Palisades in 8 hours with buddy. In order to make this happen (in daylight) you'd have to start at first light @ Crystal, then ride the trail down to SR73 knock out SunTop. I'll plan to a food stash under the bridge at Buck Creek and then finish on Skookum. Another food stash at the base of Palisades should get you through that brutal two hour endles climb.Ride these trails with care. Sun Top had been widended/buffed to the point that breaking bumps exist (any one remember NORBA)and the shuttlers are sessioning Palisades. One word of caution the decent has some high exposure sections and is very demanding after 8 or 12 hours in the saddle. DO IT!

Individually tough. All 3 in one day? urban legend!
