Trail Description:
From Hope: The trail winds its way up and down for a total of just over 19 miles through wooded single track. I believe total elevation gain is about 2,300ft. Several switch backs and steep, technical sections keep it interesting. The 2nd half is mostly downhill. There are many rocks, roots and muddy sections that need to be negotiated.
How to get there:
From Anchorage: Drive South on the Seward Highway to the Hope Hwy. About 70 miles. Take the Hope Hwy. 16 miles to Palmer Creek Road. Go several miles to the big "Y." Take the right side - Resurrection Creek Rd. for about 2 miles. The trailhead is on the right.
Additional Notes:
There are many campsites near the Hope Trailhead - even for RV's. About 8 Public use cabins dot

This trail is amazing.. I did it over 2 days staying at one of the many cabins. It has everything from bomber downhills to rugged uphills, huge waterfall lookouts, technical downhill sections, cliff exposed sections, mud, dirt, rock, above treeline, in the forest, lakeside trails, rivers, and plenty of wildlife. A definite must if you are in AK and like to bike!

This trail is a blast. I have always ridden it from Coopers Landing over to Hope, and have found it very enjoyable. My best time was 6hr 47min. Need to be careful of wild life, there can be bears. Also I highly suggest bringing a water filter as well as medical gear to get out of a pinch. The Devils option at the the pass is also an excellent (and fast) ride.
