Trail Description:
SEE ADDITIONAL NOTES: This is one of the best in the Raleigh / Durham area. Several stream crossings, tight single track, logs and rocks galore, not to metion a few prime oportunities to catch some air. Some challanging, short steep climbs and descents. This is a pretty "wild" ride, meaning that on a normal day when the foliage is full, you won't see another rider, house, or sign of humanity (very pretty ride). Based on definitions given I would rate this somwhere between "weekend warrior" and "Advanced".

How to get there:
US route 1 to Route 98 West. Imediately after route 50 overpass there is an intersection with a traffic light, (Gloldstons lumber on the right). Right at this light. 1/2 mile. to a pull off on the left w/ a small parking area and a cable across a fire road. Bike down the road, and the trail head is on the right aprox. 50 yards beyond the cable.

Additional Notes:
THIS TRAIL SUBJECT TO THE SAME LIMITATIONS AS THE NEWLIGHT TRAILS: ONLY ON SUNDAY DURING HUNTING SEA

Sad but true. I was just issued a warning on Sunday. There has aparently been a problem with trail poaching and they have stepped up notification. Ride at your own risk. New Light is too close and too cool to risk it's closure.

This trail was great, closed or not. I was the only one, it was great. Some nice obstacles. Do it if you have the chance.

The reason is gag, that this is private property. We have benn asked by the local bike advocacy to stay off these trails because continued use of them will lead to closure of over 20 miles of legal trails in the New Light Trails

This is a good biking trail, i see no reason why it should be closed...so ride on people!!!

Please do not ride on these trails. Continued use of these trails may lead to closure of New Light Trails.
