Trail Description:
The main trail Spruce Coulee Reservoir is for the most part easy riding with lots of up and down and some roots and rocks to deal with. Lots of winding trail through the trees. There are short steeper climbs and decents and long gradual climbs and decents. There are 3 loops which can be added to this ride that enhance the ride for the more skilled rider as they add much more technical sections to the ride. These loops are 1. Rodeo loop 2. Lake loop 3. Streamside Trail, only out to the Trans Canada trail then ride it back the same way you came out as the Trans Canada Trail is very easy, and Stream Side Trail is the best section of the whole ride lots of roots, climbs and technical.

How to get there:
The town of Elkwater in the Cypress Hills Prov. Park is in Southeastern Alberta 45 minutes S.E. of Medicine Hat Alberta. Leave Med. Hat head east on the Trans Canda Highway #1 about 15 miles and then take Highway #48 south to Elkwater.

From highway 1, take highway 41 south, not 48 as stated.
