Trail Description:
This trail has some really fast and technical decents but you have to climb for it. The first part of the climb on a paved road through the Riverview Cemetary (no through vehicle access so almost no traffic)... Once at the top you enter single track all the way back down. The single track is steep and tight with tons of little obsticles. Make sure you're breaks are working!!!
How to get there:
Park in Wallemtte Park off Macadam drive or by Oaks Park. You can take the Oaks park trails to make for a longer ride and cross over the Sellwood bridge when you're done.
From Willamette park ride South toward the Sellwood Bridge. Stay on the left side of the road and go under the bridge. When you come out on the other side you have to cross traffic over to this old colonial style house which is the entrance to the cemetary. Go around the vehicle gate and start climbing on the paved road. Take your first hard Left after about 1/4 mile. Keep Left till you reach the top of the hill. This is one of the oldest and best kept cemetars in Portland. There are some famous people along the way if you can spot them!! Leave the cemetary onto Carson Hieghts... Turn Left... The road quickly dog legs to your right... Turn Left onto SW Palantine Rd... once again it will dog leg to the Right... Find any one of the trail heads breaking off to your left.... They all Funnel togeather quickly and start to drop you onto the main trail. After about 300 yards the trail starts to branch out so make a few runs and try new trails. They all drop out on Macadem.

This trail is not Oaks Park. Wrong side of the river. Pick on or the other and investigate at another website, otherwise, if you don't know the area well, you'll be confused and/or lost.

I am a beginner and I thought it was a lot of fun, the only thing you need is a friend with a car to haul you to the top of the hill when you finish because it is a short trail but a steep and long climb up.Once you get to the top of the cemetary there is no Carson Hieghts it is Palantine Hill Road. I only saw one no trespassing sign so I kept going to the next trail and there wasn't any signs. Other than that it was a great trail.

These trails are in a no trespassing area. Dont post illegal trails on the internet your going to screw things up for the locals that have been riding there for years. Oaks bottom trail a much better trail and its legal to ride there.

I don't know about all the cemetary stuff, but once you get by Oaks Park you can take that mini-road along the railroad tracks toward Oaks Park and take the tunnel under it and ride around in the dirt while you itch your balls. My suggestion is ride to the top of the Sellwodd bridge and make a ramp to jump off it. Difficulty rating for that, weekend warriors... unless you do a flip.

This was a fun trail, If you are going to go on it, wait till it hasn't rained for a day or two. or the trail will be very muddy and you will crash quite a bit. Even so the loop that consisted of the cemetary and the steep downhill section was so fun that I had to do it again. Oh one more thing don't worry about Carson Heights, in the cemetary just keep taking left turns until you reach Palantine Rd.

For a longer ride... At the bottom of hill cross Macadem and drop down to the single track on the other side of the railroad tracks following the river back to Sellwood Bridge... Cross the bridge and head over to Oaks Parks. There is some great Single Track on the ridge boarding the game reserve area. Follow the railroad tracks to an tunnel that goes under the tracks and follow the trails to the bluff. You can also go through the park above Oaks and you'll find little trails breaking off on the park edge.
