Trail Description:
The trail starts out pretty steep and narrow, with three or four hair pin turns. Then it picks up a ridge line and alternates between steep drops and flatter sections. Some sections are deeply gullied and quite narrow, but with a minimum of loose baby heads. The bottom half can be done fast with sweeping bermed turns, except for one stretch where the trail is about two feet wide and six feet deep, dropping into a rocky section with two hairpins. Plenty of small stumps hidden in the weeds. Credit for finding the trail I think goes to Neil and Ricky. They clean the whole thing, I do about 5 endos. The total ride takes less than an hour if you ride the whole thing, and there is an optional 15 km dirt road grind back up to pavement or you can hire a jeepney for P 500.
How to get there:
South Super Highway from Manila to Exit 40, Santa Rosa. Go to the top pf the volcanic ridge and turn right. Pass through the traffic circle after 4 km, then through the town of Tagaytay proper. About 7 km after look for the entrance to a desrted housing development in the right with fake Greco- Roman style columns. Park there and ride down the road 1 km until you get to a house with a yellow wall and a silver water tank perched up high in the air. Follow the little trail along the wall as it drops straight down the inside of the caldera.
