Trail Description:
A rocky trail where the heat in the summer can be a challenge. Crossing Mortensen wash may be difficult during the rainy season, watch for flash floods. Follow Juniper Ridge Trail #640 signs.

How to get there:
From the Flagstaff area, head East on I-40 93 miles to Holbrook. Head South on Hwy 77 to Show Low. From the Phoenix/Tempe area, go East to Hwy 60 and follow North to Show Low. From downtown Show Low, head west 2 miles. Take a right on AZ 260 towards Payson-Heber. Continue on for 9.9 miles. Turn left onto Old Highway 160, another 2 miles to the trailhead on the right. You will pass the Juniper Ridge Lookout Road.

BEWARE! THIS TRAIL IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO FLAGSTAFF! However, this trail can be taken next time you are in Show Low, AZ. This trail has some moderate climbs and very few technical sections. However, it is probably a bit much for biginners. For a complete review, see http:\\www.swlink.net\~hokans.
