Trailhead is @ the Pigeon Bridge campground. Park in lot across the road - just past the bridge on Sturgeon Valley road (on the right when coming from Vanderbilt) Great trail - all single track with a cool double plank section. Some pretty good climbs also. Typical scenic forest area. Do the outside (bigger) loop and you will come out onto Sturgeon valley road near the bridge. (Go left to get back to the pkg lot)

Sandy and not too steep, but with LOTS of tree ruts in some spots.(enough to make your behind sore the next day on a hardtail bike) After climbing big hill approx midway through trail take a rest at the observation area at top, then enjoy zooooming back down. Traveling on narrow boardwalk along W side of loop is a minor yet fun challenge- good for practicing balance.
