I just wanted to add a correction. The trail is not 'free'. There is always a single use fee or membership required to use it, which the previous poster has mentioned goes into improving the trail. You can certainly enter the trail without paying (not the same as free), but if you have the money to own a bike or even car to get there, please don't cheap out on the $5, it's worth it.

great ride and they are adding new technical stuff often to make it more of a challenge. Please pay at the gate, the monies collected go to fund new trail development and a seasons pass is cheaper than a ticket!. Ride the right direction to save from accidents as well.

This trail is an excellent trail. But beware they do check for membership cards sometimes. Four of us got caught last year a paid $65 fine. But that was the only time we have seen them and we rode the trail alot.
