The posting about it not being a single track is wrong. I am not sure how anyone could get that idea. there are a few sections where there are alternate routes for bikes but if you are courteous you shouldn't be hassled where ever you ride. i have been riding that for over 15 years and only hassled maybe once. this is a very easy trail, smooth fast and scenic.

We love biking the Deschutes trail but this weekend we came across some people who insisted that we were biking on a hiking trail. after a rather unpleasant exhange we finished our ride. I did not see any signs that prohibited bikes but this couple insisted we were wrong. does anyone have any info on this? we've been doing this ride for years and have seen tons of other bikers out there. have the rules of the trail use been changed? Thanks.

This trail used to rock but now it is only road with a bit of singletrack. There is so much traffic in this are that they split up hikers and bikers.
