This first loop is a good place for a newbie like me! it was very technical, my friend told me they updated some of the wetter spots, 6 dollar day pass on the honer system seems kinda high though..

Its not a physically challenging course, but it does have some technical stuff (lots of close trees for tight squeezes, sharp turns, ect). The first loop is a great place to for a newbie to learn.

I killed my rear derailler in the same spot about 5 minutes from end of trail about 2 years ago on my second outing there. Terrain is flat but quick and tight spaces between trees if I remember correctly. Heading out there tomorrow for the first time in a year.

Was just out on 7/23/06 and the trail was fun, but completely totaled my rear derailleur and frame on a stick! Wrong stick at the wrong time, I guess! Lots of sticks on the trail, so if you don't have a breakaway bolt on your rear derailleur you may want to add one before you head out there! The mosquitoes were a nightmare, too. I'm covered in bites, but I had about a mile walk in the woods after my disaster :-( Also, for newcomers to Bass River, if you follow the directions given above, the trails begin right at the front of the park where you come in. I made the mistake of blowing by the "staging area" or self- registration, whatever it was called, and went all the way to the other end of the park where the boat ramp is. I searched aimlessly for trails on that end, which there are none of, then returned to the front and found the trailheads. So, have fun and watch out for sticks! :-)

First time out this year and the trail was in great shape. Love some of the log piles. I will definatly be back. Tip : Dont forget your bug spray :)

Nice trail. It is quite fast. The first 2 miles are the best. I actually ride this part over and over.

It ‘rocks’ when you enjoy a good trail. Say, have you checked out the Trail Advocacy link just on the left listed under the Trail Guides heading? Please remember it’s only as good as the effort that’s put into making it that way and it can disappear tomorrow. Please do your part. Thanks

I was quite surprised with this trail actually. It has lots of alternate trails and some good technical through the trees riding. Some mud, but thats part of mountain biking. A good saturday ride.

lots of alternate loops and cross paths. No sand patches. watch out for mud bogs, mosquitos, and tight trees.
