Trail Description:
This trail serves as a great break from the same ol' Shelby Farms trails. Mostly singletrack with a short farm road about halfway - these trails are flat and easy enough for the beginner but have a few ups and downs to make it fun for even the more experienced mtb rider. Located next to Arkabutla Lake dam, these trails wind through densely wooded and isolated areas so you get more of the 'nature experience' than you would from one of the metro area trails. You'll enjoy peddling by "swamp-like" beaver ponds and enjoy beautiful wildlife. You will have to churn through a few sandy areas and watch out for some of the inclines on which stepping logs have been imbedded to accomadate hikers.

How to get there:
From Memphis, take I-55 to the Hernando exit (exit 280) and go west on Commerce Street through town. Pass the courthouse and the road changes to HWY 304. Take a left on HWY 301 at the yellow-blinking light in the little blink-eye town of Eudora and drive app 15 minutes or until it dead ends into Pratt road. Take a left onto Pratt and drive into the park until that road dead ends by the dam levy. Take a right there and then take the first road on the right (next to the spillway) into a picnic area. The trail head is marked by a large sign and map at the rear of this picnic area beside a foot bridge.

It takes approximately 30 minutes of drive time from Southaven or the interstate exit.

Additional Notes:
Watch out for snakes sunbathing on the trail and don't forget the deet!

Trail is best ridden counter clockwise. Entrance to trail is off to the right of the sign and bridge. Go about a 100 yards back down the road you came in on towards the dam and you'll see the 2, 3, 5 mile sign down at the bottom of the hill. Beginning of 2 mile trail has more short climbs and a bit tighter trail while the 3 mile is a bit more flat and doubletrack. The 5 mile loop has a nice long climb leading up to some decent downhill with little pedaling.
