Trail Description:
This trail is rapidly developing from a beginner trail to a medium-skill technical course. It's a great loop for medium/fast training.
How to get there:
Take Trade Street out of Matthews, NC go 1-1/2 miles. Turn right on Weddington road. The park is 2-1/2 miles on the right.
Additional Notes:
Watch for hikers & be nice to them (so we can keep riding). It's a public park.

It's my local trail, i enjoying rideing it. the diamond is way rooty, i usally ride the green to the blue . the start is at the tennis courts and is well marked for direction and path . ty trailblazers.org who work many other trails in the city area .there is hiking with dogs allowed but they walk the oppsite direction as the riders so you always see them coming ,morning times are great during the weekdays , there is no one there, weekends are full plus other sports .park is open from 7 am till sunset . not a tuff trail but, fun

Okay -- I love this trail...sorry to admit it but I'm a runner. Every time I visit my dad in Charlotte, I run on the bike trails....makes for an exciting 5-7 mile run. I ran into 3 doe and a buck over my xmas visit. I will say that for bikers, not all the trails are appropriate for beginners or children, due the their "black diamond" dips and roots. On foot, it's appropriate for all, unless you have weak ankles. :) I love these trails!

This park is perfect for family's to ride some non
technical trails with somewhat of a challenge. I have
a 9 and 11 year old that really enjoy it here. I can
also come here by myself and get a good 45 minute
workout with a diamond loop. This loop is not very
technical but it is not flat either. It does give the
average mountain biker a fun ride. The trails are
aslo the best maintained trails around !!!!

Beware...Most of the good sections are now closed due to the park building more soccor fields.

Really nice trail for fun ride...not too technical, mostly very fast (watch for walkers/joggers though). An optional inner loop is much more technical. Very little elevation change...much less than the 300 ft listed above. This trail won't push you, but it's a fun ride.

A good portion of the trail backs up to residential areas that border the park. people run those trails all the time. It's especially busy in the late afternoon-early evenings during the week. The park closes at 9:00PM so get there early. There are restroom facilities there-but never used them. Also, I don't usually wear a helmet, and the good citizens of Weddington have reminded me to be safety concious. Its a good time overall.
