Some great singletrack riding, we started at esterbrook park, and you can make a nice loop taking the trail south to north ave. and coming back around to hampton, watch out during the spring tho the trail has about 6 inches of mud in the low spots around hampton.

Ladders, concrete blocks, and roots are what make up this technical trail, nothing to extreme but still challenging. The large dirt halfpipe, aka "the bonsai" is the main shindig, capiche?

This is the one that got me into single-track. I usually enter at North avenue, head north past the radio towers and all the way past the waterfalls to exit a little south of Hampton. Then cross the bridge and loop back on the other side of the river. Definitely a challenging ride!

I used to bike this trail three years ago on a near-daily basis. Now I am pleased to see that the trail is still there, and in some places some new obstacles are in place. This is one of the coolest trails to ride and it's even better that it's hidden away in the middle of the city. Beginners will be putting their feet down from time to time, and it takes some real skill to navigate the tree trunks, roots, concrete ledges and cliff's edge trails winding around the side of the riverbank. Oh, and try the large dirt halfpipe (but get some speed in the bottom or you'll be on your back soon). Helmets are recommended because if your bike tosses you, there is a fairly steep and rocky fall awaiting you down the side of the bank. Nothing extreme, but some tricky and technical riding in an unexpected place.
