Trail Description:
Bottom trail that runs along the white river, with a plateau loop that has interesting downhills which connects to the bottom trail. The upper trail head from the parking lot is actually quite a technical climb, and the down hills aren't for beginners either really. There are some nice flat parts on the bottom trail for beginners This trail weaves in and out of single track to double track. It is a trail that depends on your skill level. It allows you to take high speeds, but a beginner would have trouble maintaining this.

How to get there:
Go South from Indianapolis on 37. Take a left on Southport road, and take it to Mann road. Take another left, and the trail is on the left a little ways next to a golf course and little league.

There is an excellent trail at butler, but its on the other side of michigan, cross underneath bridge coming from butler and take the first dirt path,, it is narrow and some challenging climbes. (my 6 year old did it, she had to walk a couple since it was really steep)

Forget it. It's a fun trail, but the indy park rec. has banned any biking in the area. If you try to ride like i did, you will becaught and fined for tresspassing. If you really wan ta ride go to 82nd, 96th, or town run. These are great places to ride. Also near Butler university i found a MTB trail there down by there softball fields. Check it out.

Apparently IndyParks has prohibited biking at this park, as of March 2003. Signs are posted at trailheads banning mountain bikes. I guess some folks are still riding in spite of the ban, but don't drive all the way out there just to be disappointed by this change of policy. Too bad, the trails sounded fun.

If you head south on i-37, you need to take a right on Southport Rd.
