Trail Description:
This trail is a very little known about and ridden gem. This trail is one of the best in Wisconsin. This WORBA sponsored trail is a technical masterpiece that is built very well. The beginning of the trail actually looks intimidating as it drops steep into the woods down an off-camber rooty downhill! This trail has FLOW! The 1st half of the ride is characterized be extremely tight and technical singletrack that in some places is only 6" wide. Furthemore the trail drastically changes pitch and elevation constantly-it will take a ride or two around the loop before you can really flow on this trail. Off camber high speed descents and rapid elevation rises one after another will have have you nose wheeling down 15-20 foot sections. As the trail heads back you might think all the fun is over as you start rolling over the grasslands. Then you hit the natural 'halfpipe' that carves though this small creek valley. If you pedal hard you will find yourself hitting 50 mph as you cross a series of foot wide boardwalks at the bottom of the valley. The trail then re-enters the woods for one final technical up / down and off camber section. This trail will challenge the endurance and skills of even the best pilots.
How to get there:
Take highway 29 east from downtown Kewaunee. Turn right (North) on highway C. Look for signs headed to ATV park, follow those. Trailhead is the parking lot for ATV's. Just look north for the entrance to the MTB trail.

This trail is alive and well people. rode there today and it is in great shape, saw 4 other riders while i did my 3 laps. distance on the loop is just under 5 miles, with a goal of making it a 5 mile loop this fall.
Bench cuts are solid, grass is kept cut all season, trail is marked, and only a short ride on the Ahnapee trail to the ever improving Winter Park trail. (we out numbered the atv'ers today!)

I believe you go WEST out of Kewaunee, not East.

Very technical tight turns and fun drops- a good time to ride- very well built trail. Unfortunately the trail exits into the grass and you lose the trail. We rode half the trail and had to take the road back because the grass had apparently overgrown the trail to the point you couldn't find it. Fortunately the first half of the trail looks like its the most fun. If your at winter park this is worth checking out. More people need to get out here we were way out numbered by the ATV'ers.

I don't know who first posted the trail, but I would like clarify a few things. The trail is about 3 miles in loop format(though most people say "it feels much longer"). In the halfpipe(also called the "Rollercoaster") I would say speeds of around 30-35 mph is more realistic. Take it from me, I'm one of the main builders and riders of this trail. I'm very glad to hear you enjoyed the trail, I just didn't want anyone to be mislead. Ride on, Jonathan
