Ride Summary:
The trail wanders through pine forest offering several fine views of the surrounding lands.
Trail Description:
Loose rock in sections on short steep grades will be a challenge. Several old roads criss-cross the trail. While you may lose the trail, it's easily found by back tracking. Follow the trail markings for Buena Vista Trail #637.
How to get there:
From the Flagstaff area, head East on I-40 93 miles to Holbrook. Head South on Hwy 77 to Show Low. From the Phoenix/Tempe area, go East to Hwy 60 and follow North to Show Low. From Show Low, drive 4.8 miles West heading towards the White Mountain Apache Reservation. Pass Summer Pines turnoff. Continue to just past mile post 337 where there will be a sign, "Entering the White Mountain Apache Reservation." Take a left before the sign on to FR 300 (Rim Road), only 300 yards beyond is the trailhead on the left.
Additional Notes:
The closest town is Show Low. Early spring to early winter riding is best, bring water! USDA Forest Service, Lakeside Ranger District at 520.368.5111

It is definately in Show Low (attached to Sierra Pines subdivision - where I live) - not Flagstaff - it can be a challenge as there are many hill - serious like walk up and push bike hills also many extra single and double tracks (this is where you will find many of the hard hills) to explore - you can ride for hours without ever being on the same trail twice. Great for strength training and really fun!

Wouldn't this trail then be closer to Show Low than Flag?

BEWARE! THIS TRAIL IS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO FLAGSTAFF! However, this trail can be taken next time you are in Show Low, AZ. This trail has some moderate climbs and very few technical sections. For a complete review, see http:\\www.swlink.net\~hokans.
