Trail Description:
It is mainly rocky but it becomes smooth at times. many trails to choose from and really fat switchbacks. You can choose from canyons to hills if you like great place to take an after work ride.

In order to get to the trail, you have to climb from the canyon floor too the top of the hill. There are two ways into the trail, the enterance on the east side of the canyon is much easyer to climb than the enterance on the west side... good luck and have fun!

How to get there:
In Yakima, start on Summitview. Head west untill you are by Summitview Ext. and the Cowiche area. Once you go up and down the other side of Summitview, you shall see a vetrinary clinic and a road. Turn right on the road and follow the road till you see a sign that says "Cowiche Trail".

Fun trail, hit it when in Yakima to see family. I'd reccomemd somesort of anti-flat goo, or something as the goatheads out there are pretty bad. At least in the dry summers. Good stuff!

Take Englewood Ave. WEST, then follow the same directions. Hope to see you all out there. Any other good rides that you know of?

Their is also a parking lot up from the canyon that start you on the plateau. Take Englewood east , Right N80th,Left on Scenic drive. Parking lot is half mile down on right. Enjoy.

Great evening ride. It's more of an in and out ride but since you can park at either side it allows you to do an in and out or a "loop".

actually, you can access the trail from the top, too. drive west on summitview to 74th. Turn R (N). go to Englewood, turn L (W), to 80th ave, turn R (N). To Scenic, turn L and drive to the end of the dirt road, just before the private drive sign. Parking ample for easy upper trail access and miles of intersecting trails.

Maybe the best trail network of desert type trails in Washington. best in the spring when the desert flowers bloom and the big rides are still under snow. Many people in seattle think why drive way over to Yakima to ride, but they have little problem driving to the big rides like devils gultch and the like
