Trail Description:
From the Devil's Gulch (Mission Ridge) trailhead, ride up and up the dirt road, past the upper trailhead and parking area for Devil's Gulch. 1.8 mi. further and 600 feet higher, reach Mission Creek trailhead Rest, tune up bike, and boogie.

Rough martian lava forest, Sweet water gnome creek,

Smooth switches, strafing runs next. Cross Devil's Gulch Trail and puff up. On top, take in the 360 view.

On top, you descend a slightly serated ridge for about 3500 feet in 8 miles. Look at "da little girlie devil's gulch trail" about 2,000 feet below you. The switchbacks ? Like buttah !!!

A popular alternative is to ride up the Devil's Gulch trail from the parking lot rather than the fire road. The distance and level of effort is about the same.

How to get there:
East on Hwy.2,take first Cashmere exit south on Mission Creek, past pavement and turn right past the "Sanford and Son's car lot. The Devil's Gulch (Mission Ridge) trailhead is a few minutes ahead.

Additional Notes:
Why would people DRIVE their bikes up 4K when they could RIDE them?

just a friendly response, i agree that the fsr is difficult, but i am an old fart. a shuttle is the way to go. btw, dude, i think the 4k refers to elevation gain, as opposed to distance. get dirty!

Why drive when you can ride. We rode up the Gulch and came down Mission. It was so good we did it twice in one day. Oh ya you down hillers need to get some legs.

As of late June '07 the trail is totally clear of blowdowns and snow. They literally must have cut hundreds of trees from the top trail, they did a great job!! IMO, devils gulch/Mission ridge has to be the best trail system in Washington!!!

Duh!! The comment about riding up the road 4K is stupid (looks like you mean 4 kilometers). Try about 12 miles up roads as steep as Tiger Mountain!! We drove up and thus were able to ride the Gulch twice in one day, Mission Ridge the second day. The ridge trail is more technical but has awesome roller coaster and steep downhill sections and not as exposed. Advanced skills and nerves are a plus. Much more climbing than the Gulch...

Ride up the trail if you are an animal but mortals will ride up Devil's Gulch and down Mission Ridge trail which has got to be one of the best rides around.
