The Leatherwood Trails have been expanded drastically. 20 miles plus with 11 different trails, all with different character. Miner's Rock- great fast flowy routing / Twin Knobs-crushing climbs topping out on mountain top / Overlook- sweet switch backs with rewarding overlook in winter / Beecham- lake loop with lots of technicle riding / Bench Loop- sweet flow with lots of bluffs / Lost Ridge- new trail with great ridge ride and a 10 switch back traverse / Hyde Hollow- sweet valley ride along creek bed / Leatherwood Trail- connect Ballfields with camp facility, easy creekside ride / Fuller Trail- technicle lake side riding / Fishing Trail- short lake side trail along bluffs / Mullady Hollow- chillin' ride up valley to spring box. All trails are slick when wet can be ridden most times of the year. Advised to stay off Beecham and Fuller when wet, those can be dangerous and muddy.

There are two nice choices: the "ridge trail" and the "damn trail." (at lest that is what we call them)
The damn trail can get technical, with lots of odd obsticals and jumps, espically at the rock query past the damn (i got ten stiches on my knee there).
The ridge trail start out as a long climb, but once you get past that it is a very nice ride, with no technical part except the decent--BE CAREFULL!
The ridge trail is accerssible from the road down to the lake, and the damn trail from the recreation area.

This is a good challenging trial with a couple of good switchbacks and lots of climbing. However, be very cautious when the trail is wet. Some of the climbs have layers of limestone rock, not gravel or loose rock, flat rock and it is very difficult to get traction when it is wet. Almost like tring to peddle on ice. Once past these climbs though, the trails are fantastic. Lots of good scenery and not overly crowded. You will have a good time on these trails at Lake Leatherwood.
