Trail Description:
Description: Briar Hills is a 56 acre County Park located between two subdivisions in Oldham County, located North of Hwy 22, two miles East of Crestwood, Ky. Because there was a limited area available for mountain bike trail development, the trail designers created singletrack with emphasis on technical riding verses speed. There are numerous tight switchbacks, log jumps, rock drops and creek crossings. The climbs and desents are short but will test your fitness and bike handling skills. This park will challenge the novice rider and entertain the expert. Full suspension down hill riders may not like the layout but if you have a light hardtail and enjoy those awkward "trailsin' esk" lines, this may be your kind of place. Briar Hill is also gaining a reputation for being a great night-ride destination. The parking lot has fresh water, gender toilets and picnic tables with
shelter.

the trail is split up by the road in front of the park. the trials on the park side is a nice warm up but that about it. loose rock in the creeks make it hard to cross at times but that is the only technical part. the better trails in my opinion are on the other side. if you jump in were the two rocks are blocking a rock road you will find the opening to the trails. the opening is on the right before the homes. ride up there and wen you come to the end cross the road and that is were the better trails are. they still arnt hard but are more flowy than the other ones.

Briar Hill Was an interesting trail, I have ridden several trails such as this one and enjoyed them. But, Briar Hill may not appeal to the more "trained cyclist" because it lacks alot of the more advanced items. on the positive side it is a fast and technical ride that is good on the perhaps more crusing day's. the trail is worth checking out. *On a side note: This trail will be undergoing changes from a bicycle shop in the future for improvment if granted permission*

Briar hill is an excellent series of trails and challenging at any speed but if your out of shape take your time. Very well laid out but well hidden if your not familiar. Go straight into the park after Briar Hill pkwy comes to a T (turning right or left will take you into subdivisions) This is where the main trail entrance is located, the hill to your right if you park as soon as you pull in. If you like technical riding or live in the area it is cool to see how quick and proficient you can wipe it. Speaking of wiping it... ha, watch the smell of the creek and the crossings.

can someone tell me where exactly to drop in the "other" half of the network of trails up at Briar Hill? Do I have to go through a person's lawn?

This trail was a lot of fun. Much better that I was expecting. Can get challenging at times but should provide fun for riders of almost any skill level.

fun trail - will be better when the ground isn't crackling beneath my tires...Yes, I had to hit the trail when the temp is below 30. Just an FYI...it maybe easier to give direction from I-265 going East on
W KY 22. Distance is almost exactly 4 miles. Briar Hill Parkway is on the left, turn left, follow along until the park appears right in front of you. The trails are around the perimeter of the park.
