Trail Description:
Considering the terrain in the area has been gutted by the coal mining industry, it is safe to say the trail is semi-technical. The climbs consist of "whoops" or spoils mixed in with tight singletrack making a fun system. It is one of those trails that if you ride beyond your limits (if you have any), danger may occur.
Mostly single-track. Trails are kept up in good shape. Lots of rolling hills with a few technical areas. There is also a lake to swim and camp grounds.
How to get there:
Boonville is about 17 miles east of Evansville, IN. Take Morgan Ave. into Boonville. Once in Boonville, continue though town till you get to HWY 61 North, and take a left (on Fourth St ?). Travel about a quarter of a mile north and you will see signs directing you to Scales Lake Park.

Nick and I walked the perimeter trails this afternoon and found only a few hills with slippery areas on them. A great trail for a 5 mile hike.

Try to ride about once a week here, close to home and enjoy the learning experience.
