Trail Description:
Great downhills & Whoop-de-doos. 2 mile dual track lead in to 4 mile single track loop with cross trails.
How to get there:
From Atlanta, take 575 north to GA 52 west. From milepost 8 on 52 west, go right on County Road #65(Gates Chapel Road). Road changes from paved to gravel. Follow signs to Lake Conasauga. After passing waterfall/day use area continue 1 mile to parking area on right. Alternative access:Go 4.6 miles on Gates Chapel Rd. Turn right onto Forest Service Road 241 and go about 2 miles to the trailhead parking lot at the end of the road. Nice primitive camping here .

It starts great, single track, etc.
but then seems to be about 75% double track jeep road. Lot of climbing for little reward. beautiful country.

Very hard up hill!!!! I had to push my bike most of the way up, but the down hill is great.
Ride with someone that knows the trail so that you do not get lost. I ended up going down the wrong side of the mountain and was stranded about 40 miles away from my car. I plan to go back. It is a good trail and fun if you know where you were going.

the trail is great downhill but i would start at the bottom and climb so that afterwards i could come back down to the car.

Good blend of single and double track. Ride to the lookout is well worth the climb. Great ride down! Would go again.
