Although short, this is quite possibly one of Guatemala's most intense trails. It is a 2000 vertical foot drop along the cliffs overlooking lake Atitlan, said to be the most beautiful lake in the world. The trail drops steadily and steep through rockly chutes and switchbacks. Plenty of rock drops and narrows to challenge the best the north shore has to offer. Finish the amazing run bombing down 1000's of stairs through the mayan village of Santa Catarina Palopo.

How to get there:
From Panajachel take the road to godinez 10 miles until you reach "el Mirador" or the over look. Just behind the over look starts the trail, you cant miss it!

I was delighted to find a description of one of my favorite trails around the lake! I actually made most of the switchbacks on my last run.
