Just learned the 'Boomer period' has ended. Used to ride here yaers ago when Rocky Hill NEVER closed. Solo riding on many Thanksgiving Days. Under Boomer, cafe was closed a long time, trails were opened only Thursday -Sunday and you had to call for them to open on Thurs & Friday. Glad to see it opened now 24/7 365 days I will be Back! I will give 'em credit for maintaining and cutting two new trails.

rode the trail this past weekend with a buddy, and we had a blast! lung-busting, leg-screaming-stop climbs on ike's peak & fat chuck's demise, with hair-raising downhills. lots of fun single tracks, drops & switchbacks. and dont forget the roots & rocks to top it all off! great ride. one of the best in texas baby!!

Boomer and the crew are taking over the saloon and are busy sprucing it up. This is a fantastic trail, keep in mind that there is an easy way up (Gray's Hiway if memory serves). Fat Chuck's can be discouraging if it's the first time you're riding here--especially if it's a hot day. Make sure to get out to the Avenue of the Pines--it's like a pine catherdrial..surreal.
I've ridden on pretty much everything around Austin and Houston, and Rocky Hill Ranch is definitely my favorite. Well..if I want technical, I'll always go to Emma Long/City Park.

The saloon/bar/restaurant is closed, indefinitely, as of July 2006.
The CapsLock warning when adding comments is very annoying.
