Trail Description:
This trail is just newly opened and will when complete be approximately 25 miles. It consists of nothing but super buff, deep forest singletrack in one of the prettiest parts of middle Tennessee. There are lots of different types of riding to choose from. Tight and twisty, longer twists with climbing, longer straight climbs and descents, one way downhill, flume, craters, creek crossings, rocks, and lots'o logs. The forest is very old and has been protected by the state since the 30's when the CCC/WPA opened the park. So there are lots of big trees and you will ride in complete shade in the warmer months. The best feature worth mentioning is the incredible soil that soaks up water like a sponge, meaning, year round riding. Only during extreme freeze/thaw months will you have to observe closures. There is a $3.00 day charge and a $40.00 yearly pass that you will have to purchase at the park office to ride and will be superceded by a fee tube at the parking lot in the future.

At this time the trail consists of two loops but will be greatly expanded in the future. As you enter the trailhead, go left to ride the 5 mile twisty loop.It will bring you back to where you entered. Take a right at the same trailhead and then take 2nd right at the bottom of the culvert to ride the longer 7.5 mile loop. You will be able to access the one way downhill section(1.5 mile) from this loop.

How to get there:
From Nashville Tn,take I-40w approx 20 miles to the Dickson/Fairview exit(Hwy 96)and turn left towards Dickson. Approx 8 miles you will T into Hwy 70. Take Rt following signs to the park. After seeing "entrance to park 500 feet" take first L at Laurel Furnace Rd. Then take R onto Jones Creek Rd. Take 2nd left onto Bill Duke Rd and immediately turn R into trailhead parking lot.

Alternate scenic route: Take Hwy 70w out of Nashville to White Bluff Tn.(Approx 20 miles) After passing through WB,take 1st R past Shell/Park Motor Co. This will be Jones Creek Rd and your 2nd R will be Bill Duke Rd.

It was pretty cool. We drove two hours but still had a fun. There were plenty of trails to choose from for different skill levels. People have definitely put a lot of care into making this place possible. It didn't have the jumps or downhills or narrow bridges like we were expecting on the "technical" trails but I guess nobody in Tennessee has heard of that on a bike trail. Apparantly technical means lots of roots, riding though creeks and uphill the whole time. Regardless, however, we still had fun and will probably go back in the future because it is still the best set of trails we have found in Tennessee so far.

This place is a Tick farm! Wear good bug repellent and still expect to pull off some ticks.
