Trail Description:
There are a lot of trails here with lots of turns. Get a map at a local bike shop otherwise you will likely either get lost or miss the good stuff.
How to get there:
Park at Olympia Stadium (hosted the 1936 Winter Olympics) and head into the mountains. When the road forks about 500 meters past the stadium, turn right and go straight up the mountain on the paved road to Partnachalm, then on to the Partnachklamm.

Once at the Olympic stadium take the cable car to the top of the mountain with your bike and ride down the gravel/dirt hiking path. I asked the man selling the cable car tickets and he suggested a very nice long, steep, down hill ride, and the map was free there too. You have to watch your speed as there are drainage half pipes across the trail all the way down, along with hikers. But it is worth the mountain views, just be kind to the hikers, as it appears they have the right of way. Once down the mountain just ride back to the stadium along the local roads.

I've hiked this trail, haven't ridden it yet. There is a good map at many of the ski lodges at Hausberg, etc. I'd suggest one because there are many branches to this trail, some more challenging then others. The Partnachlamm Gorge is fabulous, though I don't know if the actual river walk portion is open to bikes (you'd have to walk anyway b/c a portion of initial kilometer of the trail has a 5 ft or less height).
The whole Alps area is full of trails. Many hill top Gasthauses to get beer, brats, etc. For those in the military, easy to base out of the Edelweiss lodge. I believe Hausberg lodge rents bikes but if not, there are many bike rental stores in Garmisch or Partenkirchen.
If you want to go on some of the varied trails, I'm sure you'd find a few that cross into Austria towards Lermoos as well.
Great place to go - I'll be riding here this summer.
