Thomas was correct they just opened up a large portion of walker/bike only trails off of the main entrance Possum hollow or something like that. I hit it for the first time the other day and the trail was well groomed. Only one trail in the very back of the park was so over grown that I had to turn around. But a great flowy single track trail system. Small rock piles here and there with a lot of creek crossings. Can't wait to get out there and build some technical sections.

Mcadoo Trail is fine when the horses haven't been trampling it lately. I too have come across sections that are impassable due to the nasty squishy mud that the horses have churned up after a rain. I like the walking trails in the main park far better so far. I have heard the there is supposed to be close to 30 miles of bike only trails opening this year ('09). Should be interesting to see how well maintained they are.

This trail is fine for smokers and pregnant women but if your looking for excitment your in the wrong place. This trail is shared with horses so about 50% of it is trashed to to the hooves. If your going to ride it make sure it hasn't rained in the past week at least. The dense forest keep the trail shaded throught the day which makes it nearly impossible for the mud to dry up.
I'm only giving this trail a 2 because of the mud you have to ride through and the horse sh!t you have to constantly dodge.

Ugh. This trail is mostly destroyed by horses. Mud, wide hoof-trampled areas, and poo - lots and lots of poo. If you do ride the trail, head right (west) after the initial creek crossing. This area is the best part of the trail. You climb a large hill, that you can turn around and then ride down. My suggestion is that if you are in that area head over Cave Hollow Park in Warrensburg.

Last fall the trail was passable, some areas were "hooved" but it was dry and there was a bike line all the way through, this spring it is soggy and the horses have taken over parts of the trail making it impassable. When it is open it has some nice hills and a few really technical spots the will challenge advanced-intermediate riders. I live right by this trail and the local bike shop is sponsoring some volunteer work, hopefully the rest of the park will then open up to bikes. Bottom line: not a bad layout, horses have ruined parts of it, we need to get out and do some fixing.
