Trail Description:
Cherry Valley has long been a "locals" place to ride. One of my first BBTC rides back in '91. There are no maps available and due to it's vast nature, may be somewhat confusing. Also, 90% of the property is private although it is backed up by Weyerhauser and Marckworth State Forest property. Use respect when riding here and you will continue to be able to. The system is a mixture of logging roads in various stages of use and user built singletrack. It mostly is on the north side of Cherry Creek, leading up the hill to Lake Margaret. Highlight of the ride is the falls on Cherry Creek, upstream from the main riding area. A must do on hot summer days. Area can accomodate beginners. But, there is some climbing. Advanced riders will also have fun here.
How to get there:
-405 to SR 522. Take the Woodinville - Duvall exit. Head East into the town of Duvall. Turn left, heading North, and then an immediate(in town)right up on to NE Cherry Valley Road. Take this to Cherry Gardens Community Club at the junction of Mountain view Road and where NE Cherry valley turns into Kelly Road. Turn hard left, on to Mountain View and park there on the side of the road. Either go up the dirt road 100 feet ahead, to the right and take the trail about 200 yards up from there, or, just go in behind the silver gate across from Cherry Gardens.

Plenty hilly with a few descent trails nothing to write home about. Can be wet and muddy in areas. The falls are great but the motorized vehicles are making nothing but a complete mess. Same sort of idea as Lord Hill--if you live nearby it may be worth it otherwise forget it.

are we talking about the same cherry vally? there are a few nice trails there, most are short. the rest are muddy. the falls are the highlight of the day when ya ride there. to find them: peddle up the road, pass the few trails ( i ride them on the way back ) stay on the road, go over a bridge, stay left on the main road, pass a few more short trails and start heading down the hill. they have dug some water bars on this long dirt road down hill so its kinda fun. about 20 big jumps one after another, at the bottem of the hill take a left on the single track, it turns into a road in about 700 feet, you'll know your getting close when ya hear the creek, peddle up that road for a mile or so and take your first right. if you cant find the falls from there, ther is a problim

this ride is truly a "something for everyone." long, satisfying, with fairly steep climbs and exhilarating descents. the ride down from the northernmost point towards the first creek crossing and the final descent to the trailhead are definitely the highlights. can't wait to go on this trail again when my skills get better.
a warning, though - the second creek crossing is really easy to miss. if you're riding in what looks like a dried out riverbed with lots of plants, you've gone too far. turn back and investigate behind the big log on the side of the road. have fun!
