Trail Description:
These trails are getting to be more and more popular. The trail network is extremely tight and twisty though it lets you loose for the occasional but short fast sections.

While named Lake Sawyer, you can't actually get to Lake Sawyer. the trails that lead to that section are posted no trespassing. But no worries as there are plenty trails in the open area (East of the old railroad).

How to get there:
From Renton take HWY 169 (The Maple Vallye Highway) East towards Black Diamond. After passing through Four Corners look for some power lines. Pass under thoses and then start looking for pull outs to the right. There are several options. You can also turn right onto 288th and park in the small area directly to the left.

Thanks to all trail builders who created this easy access trails to Washingtonian. A cool close trail for rainy season. Of course, Tiger mountain is just adjacent to it if you feel you wanted to ride two trails in one day. A good training trail for beginners but can challenge the best rider in Pakalolo section. Have fun!

This trail system offers things for just about everyone. It took many trips out there to cover all of the trails effectively. From the main gate parking hit the trails across the street while you still can. There are some fantastic trails that will keep you challenged (light technical, cardio) for a couple of hours. This area is scheduled to be developed soon so ride it while you can!

I just rode this today and thought it was great but unfortunately I did not cover all of the trails.

I love these trails. Pick 'em right and you can go from the parking areas off of 169, all the way to Lake Sawyer. Some of that time is spent on dirt/gravel roads, but it is entirely possible b/c I did it last night. Trails are challenging for a novice biker, but not extremely hard.

Relax!!! The trails are safe. There is construction on an adjacent parcel, and some trees fell over the property line. The great riding is here for the duration in BD.

The end is near. My neighbor mentioned the other day that he had seen some trees being cleared near the southeastern end of the trail area, as seen from the highway. We rode later that day, and sure enough, not only is there a clearing being cut, they are marked for a section of the trails as well. Orange surveyor marks and white ribbon on trees deemed good for harvest. Took out a fair section of trail. I haven't ridden the entire section on that side of the trails yet to get a feel for the amount lost, but it's only a matter of time before one of the better trails in the area is paved over and becomes a series of cookie cutter houses, all looking like their neighbor.
I love this trail, and intend to get back there as much as Ican possibly squeeze in. Lonly 2 miles from this trail has spoiled me. Nneed to pack up the bike and drive anywhere. *sigh*

These trails are awesome. On the black diamond side there are 2 or 3 lops that are very twisty. They are great to improve your technical skills. On the opposit side of the trails by the Sawyer woods elementary school there are fire roads that take you all the way to black diamond. If you want something a little more difficult take the first fire road until it goes over a stream(it goes through tubes. After the stream there will be a trail on the right. There are a lot of roots and rocks but the trail is a great workout and plus it takes you to theblack diamond side.
