Trail Description:
Perfect set of trails for riders of all skill levels. A few jeep roads, but primarily an elaborate maze of single track with rock gardens, switch backs, technical climbs, fast downhills and more log/root crossings than most riders have seen in their biking career.
How to get there:
Take PA-28 N. to the PA-8 N exit number 5B on the left towards Butler. Merge onto PA-8 N. Then turn right onto Kittaning St. The street then becomes Dorseyville Rd. Turn left onto Harts Run Rd. Cross Saxonburg BLVD to the next stop sign and turn right onto Middle Road. Hartwood is on the right a half mile. Pass the main gate to the stop sign, turn right into the parking lot. You'll find the trailhead in the back of the lot through the clearing.

I have a full suspension freeride bike and don't x-country ride much, but this place is great. It has enough technical stunts to keep me happy and is mostly a single track smooth ride, besides the logs, roots, and rocks. If you get to know the trails, it can be a fun ride, with great downhill segments.

Lots of technical singltrack. Can be confusing but you will keep coming back and finding more and more trails to make you very happy. Most of the trails are very technical ranging from logs every 20-40 feet to steep rock gardens and cool, well built log rides. Trails go up by a cool mansion, all very good trails with some sick downhill sections. Found an almost vertical switchback the other day... it was fun.
