Trail Description:
The new Lakeshore Park Trail [a.k.a. novi tree farm]has been completely rebuilt due to the loss of a large portion of the park from the Sandstone land acquisition.

In the fall of 2002 the MMBA volunteers added 6 new miles of great single track to the park. It is as good a ride as you'll find in the state of Michigan. Presently, the new trail offers a trail system that can be riden by all level riders. At most technical sections, the rider is offered a bypass to either take the obstacle or to wait for another day!

It is a great place to bring the entire family for a day of fun. Just a mile or so from the great shopping found on Novi road and I-96, the park also has 3 large play scapes for the kids, private beach access, soccer fields, hiking, cross country skiing, nature walk observation areas, and the 1st class mt. biking trail system.

The trailhead sign has a map box. Be sure to pick one up. There are many great loops to enjoy at the Lakeshore Park Trail, but be sure to stop and really enjoy the challenging obstacles at the CRATER! We promise that you'll enjoy it.

How to get there:
Located in the beautiful city of Novi, the Lakeshore Park Trail system is just minutes from the novi road exit off I-96. Take novi road north 4 traffic lights to Old Novi Road. Turn left. Take this to South Lake Shore Dr., which is the 1st light. Turn left. You are now on the shores of Walled Lake, and the entrance to Lakeshore Park will be on your left in about 1/2 mile. You can't miss it.

Additional Notes:
The Lakeview Bar & Grill is located at the corner of Old Novi Road and South Lakeshore drive.

This trail is a lot of fun. A lot of tactical stuff but you can also just go around it if you don't want to climb rocks or logs. No crazy inclines either. Love this one!

Log runs and drop, tight switchbacks, this trail has it all. No big climbs but I'm ok with that it is still a lot of fun. Thanks to all that have improved the trail with fill in the wet areas this year.

Great trail!!! Like one of the other reviewers said it could be marked a little better. So many trails that it gets confusing. Other than that, it is a great trail!

2006 and we are still adding and refining the available stunts and off shoots thanks to the many volunteers that come out to support this trail. Signage project completed early this summer. There are now maps and directions to exit or follow the trail all over. Come on out on a Tuesday night "no drop" ride with Team Tree Farm. (6:30 at the trailhead.) We ride all year round. :) Happy trails!

It ‘rocks’ when you enjoy a good trail. Say, have you checked out the Trail Advocacy link just on the left listed under the Trail Guides heading? Please remember it’s only as good as the effort that’s put into making it that way and it can disappear tomorrow. Please do your part. Thanks

I just rode this trail for the first time today and it was the most fun I have had in a long time. I killed about a half an hour playing in a crater that by itself makes the trail great. The whole trail is well maintained although it could be marked a bit better.

This is my favorite trail in the area. There are lots of twists and turns. What’s great is you can do the log piles, rock gardens, and the crater or not (there’s a bypass around almost every difficult part). The MMBA has done a great job on these trails!
