Trail Description:
Dirt roads & doubletrak trails span the entire Anchorage hillside..from North of Muldoon To HillTop & Beyond.. Try riding the east side for a change, theres a good variety of trails to choose from, and You'll see stuff you'd never see on the southrn hillside.
While you're up there be sure to check out the Ship Creek Dam and Resevior and the ol' rope swing on the hill. But Watch out for Pit Traps and Naked Homeless People.
How to get there:
Take the north Muldoon Boundry road allmost to the end. Where It curves Sharply to the right theres small parking pullout with some big rocks and a fence behind them. Theres a narrow opening in the fence. You can get in there, or From Campbell Airstrip road, Or The Backside of Pioneer Loop.

cont. if the white gate is open then the army
probably is not out and about but if it is closed turn
around and go back. they use live fire out there
so...also don't touch anything you may see laying
around out there. things have gone boom out there
after the army has gone back to the post. in
general if you are on the main road back there you
are just asking to be read the riot act by any
number of post officials. You may be better off
staying on the powerline. there is a movement to
put a bike trail along civilian - military boundary.

You need to know about entering from North
Muldoon that the army trains in that area a lot and
the hole in the fence mentioned in the article was
closed about six months ago. So here is what you
can do. turn onto peck ave. the last street heading
north on muldoon before you hit boundary ave. go
east toward the mountains. go all the way to the
end and there are a few 90 degree turns. when you
come to the last parking lot go to the north east
corner of it and you will see a trail that leads to a
moose gate which you can get through. please
close it and don't park in the area it is private
property. here is another trick that can save you
some problems with the military police. after you
go through the moose gate go along the trail south
east for 200 yards and then you will see a trail road
that leads to the east and the powerline and the
new bull dog trail/tank trail road. right before the
road there is a white gate. if that gate is open
