Trail Description:
This trail is mostly wooded single track with some steep climbs in places. Many loops to choose from, but a nice 10 to 12 mile loop can be taken. The section north of the park road is challenging, with a fast downhill section and many ups and downs throughout.
How to get there:
the trails can be located at Walnut creek park which sits near the corner of Parmer ln and Lamar blvd. Entrance to the park is about a quarter mile south of Parmer lane on Lamar blvd.

I came from the Seattle area, and I was surprised to
find such quality biking in Austin. This is a great
place if you are unsure of how much time you have,
or want to spend on your bike. Not overly
technical, but fun to ride on my Trek hardtail. The
whole park is an off leash dog park, so be on the
lookout. Everyone I have encountered (other bikers,
hikers, dog walkers) has been friendly and polite on
the trails.

Great trail to start learning some technical skills; though there are some fast, rocky downhill sections you probably don't want to take if you have a cheap bike. It's pretty easy in general, but your first time out you probably want to go with someone who knows the trail, as it's easy to get lost. This is a good trail for beginners to start getting some real off-road skills, but you'll probably want to move on to City Park or the Greenbelt for some more challenging stuff.

I wouldn't say this is a weekend warrior's trail at all. There are a few jumps though. Its really easy to get lost because it seems each trail forks off then that trail forks off, etc. Great place to build up your quads as you will peddle your @ss off with the hills and all the switchbacks. It does have some technical spots though. Not as many as the Barton Creek Greenbelt though. Not a good trail to ride after some rain. It gets too muddy. Overall this trail is fun and will make you suck some wind.
