Carter Caves State Park

Trail Description:
Shared usage. More bikers use this trail because other horse trails are offered. Some sections are very rocky and some of the climbs are push only. Crosses gravel roads to use as bail out points in case of trouble. Beautiful old growth forest sections, wooden bridges, rock formations, a lake and free caving just a few yards from the trail. Adventure race every Fall.

Nice place to visit for sure.

How to get there:
I-64 to Olive Hill exit and follow the signs. Less than 10 miles from I-64.

Additional Notes:
Bring your own lunch and flashlights for caving. Maybe an extra pair of dry shoes.

i rode this over the summer. the horses have destroyed this trail. we had to push the bikes at some points and the mud from the horse damage was 6' - 8' deep and we just sank into it. the trail is split into 2 sections with a gravel road going trhough the center. the short side (4 miles) is in better shape than the other. overall.......... very disapponited
