Trail Description:
This trail is great fun for a beginner. It's got a few spots where the climbs really test a beginner. It's a fun ride.
How to get there:
There are 3 trailheads.
1. Off of Rinaldi, just west of Zelzah.
2. Off of Senson Way from Balboa to Senson all the way up until the dirt fireroad connecting to Aliso Canyon.
3. From Resedia and Senson.

i'm new to mtn biking, so i reviewed this site to learn about entry-level trails. i road this trail the first day i read comments about it.
there are 2 trails, and both are used by walkers and bikers. the wider trail (called Longacre Ave) is the more westerly of the 2, and the "narrow" trail, for lack of a better name. it's only 1-bike-width wide. the "narrow" trail has a few more bumps and seemed to give a rider more "action". the wider trail is lined with crushed gravel and packed dirt, mostly, so a rider can go pretty fast on those stretches.
the trail was a pretty for my level of experience (new to offroad cycling, but in-shape). it's a little more than 1 mile long (in 1 direction), with long stretches of flat terrain to build up good speed, plus a few small creeks to cross (which may require dismounting from your bike).
i rode the trail going south to north (rinaldi st to senson blvd). the steep senson part is a dirt road until getting to the top of the hill,

This trail is good for beginners. Once you do the climb to the top of the Canyon you have a great view. The Downhill can be pretty hairy but thats what makes it alot of fun. The only time this trail closes is after it rains.

i rode down to this trail on 2/11/05 only to discover that it doesnt exist anymore. i began from sesnon, rode down the dirt hill, and then ran into a bunch of big construction vehicles that are tearing up the trail.

The trail is on Rinaldi Street in
between Zelza and Chimeneas
acroos from the freeway. You can
take the 118 freeway east or west
and exit reseda blvd, then make a
right onto rinaldi blvd, will be on the
left side. This trail is good for a quick
ride. Its a consistant climb...but its
not to bad....the first trail ends where
you can turn around and go back for
an easy quick exit or continue up a
steep grade towards the three trees.
