Trail Description:
Still a fairly new trail, very close to housing, but fortunately too technical for 'walking the dog'. One of the major Oil Sands Plant Sites has sponsored the development of another nature trail that manages to keep a safe distance away. Raw narrow path that offers a challenge to the best knobbies made. Damp, peaty, rooty and muddy at times with steep climbs and nervous descents. Sharp turns under duress. Finish it all off with a 20' screeching cliff-drop, and back up Thickwood Blvd for a pint @ Paddies.

How to get there:
Fort McMurray is virtually at the end of a 450 km highway stretching into the boreal forests northeast of Edmonton, Alberta. Drive through the lower townsite and cross the expansive Athabasca River (which originates near Jasper as a narrow glacial stream). Left at the first major intersection carries you up Thickwood Blvd. First right at the top, then cut thru residential to the north leg of Timberline Drive. A small clearing in the greenbelt is where we drop in. (You should be able to see the trail's namesake just up the road from here - Garden Market IGA.)
