Ortega Trail

Trail Description:
Overgrown, tick infested during summer, poor to no maint., rocky at times, Could be Awesome with some grooming & trimming - rating would reduce to Advanced Skills or lower then.

First 3 miles are ~900 ft gain, then 2700 ft loss if ridden from Cherry Creek end. View from saddle at end of first 3 miles is worth just making that ride.

How to get there:
CA 33, leave vehicle at lower end ~3/4 mi beyond Matilija Campground, continue to Cherry Creek Rd., cross creek on south side. Watch out for Target Shooters in first 1.5-ish miles.

Additional Notes:
USFS Adventure Pass required to park at either end.
