Trail Description:
There is one main loop that will take you around the park (dual track), but there are many trails that jet off the main trail that are a lot of fun. There are creek crossings and lots of downed trees in the path. Definitally something for everyone to play on.

How to get there:
From D.C.- Take 66 west to 29 south. Go about ten miles to Warrenton. Continue on the 29 bypass around Warrenton. Just past the traffic light at Rt. 29 business take a right onto Lovers Lane. There will be a Radio Station on your right hand side. Follow Lovers Lane for about half a mile. The road will take a hard right. At that hard right you will take a left onto Lees Ridge Road. Follow Lees Ridge Road for 1 mile and the park will be on your right. Parking is available free of charge

Additional Notes:
This is about a 60 acre park so it is impossible to get lost.

Went out to Whitney this weekend. I did two trails. The trail to the far left offers a interesting ride. This park could be a challenge, not because of the terrain, but because it is not mapped or marked. I did the left trail and took a right turn at all cross roads. It eventually brought me right back to the beginning, making a loop that ends just a few feet from the start. There are lots of twists and turns on the paths, most single track, a couple jumps, roots, logs, but very little rock. Mostly hard topped dirt. I also did the fire road. Easy biking, slightly graveled. Interesting sights. It is 1.1miles to the end, so 2.2 miles down and back. Fast and fun, but no obsticles or technical challenges. Actually would be fun for a off road race. You can really get going on that fire road because it has no obsticles. Enjoy.

Took a day and rode these trail. Some good double tracks & fun single. Not hard, but interesting and enjoyable. Good thing about Whitney is there isn't very many people there. The terrain is beautiful. One bad point - no maps so you can get a tad lost so pay attention.

Hello....I was reading the posts and was wondering what E-furnace is that was mentioned in one of the previous posts. I am in Warrenton to mtn bike and would like to see e-furnace but I dont know what it is. Thanks, Raymond

If you drive this far from NOVA, you should just keep going to E-furnace. If you live close by it is a decent place to get in a quick workout. The park is approximately 200+ acres with a three mile outer loop which is all singletrack. A doubletrack trail bi-sects the park and will always take you back to the parking lot. Loop together the inner trails to extend the ride. Short climbs, not very steep, offer some aerobic effort. Some roots, some rocks, some eroded steeps. Don't leave trash. Respect the horse back riders! Fun for singlespeed bikes.

Great trail that has an outer loop that is a quarter road and 3 quarters trail. Inside the loop is where all the fun is and you can ride for 10 minutes or 3 hours.

This trail is a fun ride. It is a great workout and has great views as well. The best part, this trail is free.

this is close to town and a fun ride the outer loop is 2.5 miles. logs-- streams roots. all trails lead to a climb

This trail offers lots of turns, ascents, descents, and mud--making for an excellent mountain bike ride for riders of all skill levels. The trails are almost exclusively off-road, in the middle of nowhere, and border several streams with scenic mountain views--quite a nice respite from the DC rat race if you've got enough time for an hour trek outside of the beltway. Definitely recommended and worth the drive--don't be deceived by the rather unimpressive parking lot!
