Trail Description:
Landahl MTB Park has been around for many years and used to be an old moto-park for trail bikes. It has been closed to the moto-crowd for about ten years and has exploded with new trail systems throughout the area.

You will find anything and everything you could possibly hope to find in a biking trip. Smooth-as-buttah singletrack? You bet. Moderately technical? Yup. More-rock-than-dirt? Got that, too. The description of a "has-it-all" trail has been a little over-used lately, but this trail system truly is a has-it-all trail.

The park is also very well maintained by a large crew of volunteers who are constantly revamping old trails in the summer and cutting new ones in the winter. The park is kind of divied into major areas of riding levels. From the parking lot, the trails are basically to the north of you. If you follow trails leading in a generally northwest direction, you will be getting to the more technical stuff. Stay north and northeast bound and you'll ride mostly the average to moderately advanced trails.

But here's probably the best thing about Landahl: It's got a wonderful groove to it. No matter which trails you choose for your ride, and there are many, you will have a lot of flow to your day. The trails are made by people who have been cutting trails for years and years. So you won't find a lot of the weird problems a lot of other trail systems have.

How to get there:
Get yourself to I-70 and Highway 7 in Blue Springs, MO. Head north on 7 out of Blue Springs. Note: you're now in a small town and Blue Springs' finest will be keeping an eye out for gotta-get-to-the-trails-fast drivers. You'll see a Casey's C-store on your right (east) at an intersection. Keep going, you're on the right track. About a mile past that intersection you'll see a chance to turn right (again, east). This road is called Argo, hence the old-school name for the Argo-trails. Now head east. You'll meander thru the forest for a bit, about three miles, cross a couple of intersections, keep straight, my friend. Eventually you will pass a shooting range on your left with all kinds of gun-crazy Missourians blasting at targets toward the forest. Good thing you're not riding over there..........oh wait, actually, you will be! Keep heading east for about a half mile. You should see a small sign saying something about the mountain bike park and you'll see parking lots to the north and south of the road. Find a spot and start riding.

Additional Notes:
This place can get a bit crowded on the weekends, but for some reason, the trails remain uncongested

This is a great mtb place with awesome flow. Laid out really well and has some sick technical rocky stuff. They don't call the trail Rim job for nothin!

Glad to see the postings here. I rode this park before it was opened up for mountain bikes (lots of flats those days). I will have to check it out when in KC sometime.

I've ridden the trail a few times, and it's really great. Plenty to challenge you, but you can take it easy too.

Like everyones been saying, great park. I cant stress the word park enough. Truly something for every skill level. Trail head doesnt exactly jump out at you so drive slow and look for the parking lot full of cars with bike racks.

Wonderfully maintained and cared for trail system. My wife and I did the Will's wander trail and the family trail as well as the double track all the way to the back of the park. Got almost 7 miles and a great workout. For a couple of intermediate riders there was plenty of fun and challenge. We'll be back!!

I have ridden a lot of trails. This one is one of the best. My partner had never ridden trails and he did great. We stuck to the "Family Trail" and it was a little changing for him. I would like to try some of the more advanced trails next time. I would highly recomend you try this one.

This is a really fun trail!!! Has lots of room to open up and go fast with a nice mix of rocks and roots. I don't like many rocks on the trail and this was perfect. Only bad thing, if you want to look at it that way, lots of blind corners. So when you meet someone be ready to hit the brakes, cause you wont see them until your on top of them. Nice climbs, nice desents. Great trail!!

This is one of my favorite places to ride in Missouri and I have ridden quite a few trails. I would rank it up there with the Chubb Trail and the Berryman Trail (yet, it is quite different than those) Landahl is as it is described a "MTB Park". There is a network of trails named and marked for various skill levels. The black-diamond stuff gets pretty technical and rocky and is a blast to ride. If you are more of a beginner, it is easy to stick to the easier stuff because of how well the trails are labeled. The network is a bit of a maze and you can easily spend all day pedaling around this place. Highly recommended.
