Trail Description:
John Bryan State Park has some of the best trails in the Dayton, Ohio area. The Arboretum Loop is a wide, flowing multi-use doubletrack suitable for family rides, walkers, and people walking their dogs. It has a variety of surfaces. Part of it is gravel, part of it is grassy, and the rest is a cheap chip and seal pavement. It is about 1.2 mile long. The Powerline Loop is a 1.3 mile moderately technical singletrack. There are lots of tight turns and logs across the trail. There are a couple fun spots thrown in as surprises, as well. Beware if you have wide handlebars. Abracadabra starts right off from Powerline and it is about a 2 mile loop with a small loop added in last fall. And Great Scott will be about a 1/4 mile to your right when you come off from Abracadabra. Great Scott is like 4 loops inside of one large area which is about 5 miles now with the new sections added this winter. There are many ramps going over downed trees, a few small creek crossings many log piles and a few bridges. You could ride this place all day, and never get enough. And the best thing about this place you're never more than a mile from your car. Please don't ride if its muddy.
How to get there:
Find I-675 bypass in Dayton, Ohio. Exit Dayton-YellowSprings Rd. 6 miles north to Yellow Springs, take US 68 (left) to the north side of town and take Yellow Springs Pike (OH 343) EAST (right). Drive approximately 1 mile until you get to Meredith Road.(OH 370) Turn right onto Meredith Road. In approximately 1 mile, you will enter the park. Turn left towards the park office. Keep left on the main park road until you see the Day Lodge. There is parking on both sides of the park road. The trailhead is on the left and there is a small gravel parking lot there. There is a larger paved lot on the south side of the park road.
Additional Notes:
Wide handlebars and barends beware, the trees can jump out in front of you sometimes

No offense, but are you serious? Ohio
is one of the worst states for mountain
biking. And yes, many other places have
indoor mountain bike parks, but most
don't need it since there is much
better riding outside. I live in New
Jersey, one of the crappiest states
around, and there is 20x better
mountain biking there (Diablo Freeride
Park, for example). I hope I can find
something good to ride in Ohio while
I'm at school but so far it is looking
average at best.

Ohio may be boring, but as far as mountain biking goes, Ohio has some of the best. Any other state have an indoor mountain bike park? Enough said!JB is fun, maybe a bit tight in some spots, just when you think you're ripping. I hate to even give posers a heads up, but I know there are way more quality people than yihmino's. I think they closed Buckhorn, but Huffman is brand new and a great ride, go south and hit Caesar's Creek, Cinncy has EI, tower park, and Alum Creek along with tons of smaller fun stuff. I live in KY now and ride from Vermont to NC and Ohio has it all and is great riding.

This is my favorite local trail. It's fast, well maintained, and offers something for everyone. I don't know why the trails are designed so a tree is there to clip your handlebars every 10 feet, especially on fast sections. That's my only complaint.

If you have to ride this trail when its wet, please don't ride around the mucky spots. The trail is starting to get to wide in spots, so ride though the mud NOT around it.

I have learned on this trail. It is probably one of the best maintained trails in the area. It doesn't have a lot of ups and downs, but good technical riding.
