Trail Description:
This is one of the hot spots for mountain biking in the Twin Cities. This is a good, challenging singletrack trail in the middle of a forest with plenty of sharp, twisty curves, several hill climbs, and some wild descents. Unfortunately, it's closed from October 15 through May 1.
How to get there:
Take Burnsville Parkway east from Highway 35W past County Road 11. The park is on your right. The mountain bike entrance is on Burnsville Parkway about 1/3 mile east of County Road 11. (Note that the west entrance is not open to mountain bikers.) There are signs that indicate where the trail is, along with maps.
Additional Notes:
Lots of technical singletrack, and it's a nice thrilling ride.

Terrace is a different trial. Overall the trail is pretty easy, not to many climbs, but there is some tight singletrack, and a few features.
the trail is as easy or hard as you make it! you can go slow and make it easy; or go all out and make it hard!
sadly its only about 2.5 miles long..
Its a really fun trial, great if you have limited time(1 lap-about 18mins) or you wanted to work on skills.

As far as extremely difficult singletrack goes, Terrace Oaks has not been blessed with it. However, that's not to say there still isn't challenging stuff. Like "ricky" said, there is a very hard switchback section and there are huge amounts of rock gardens and loose gravel surfaces on steep descents that will test your knowledge of mountain bike skills. There are also a handful of advanced section of trails thrown in along the way. The trail is only about five miles long, so you might want to go on it a second time if you plan to get a serious workout. Overall, it's an excellent trail to mountain bike on, and I'm glad I choose to ride on it. (Once I even saw a deer crossing the trail!) Be aware, though, that as of this writing, the trail is undergoing yearly renovations to prevent erosion and wear, and as a result, part of the trail has been crossed off-you have to take a detour to get back on the trail. Happy riding!
