Been riding this trail over the summer, excellent trail, i have alot of fun, but recently has suffered some damage with the inclement weather, there is some spots where severe erosion has occurred due to rain, and some bridges are dangerously loose.

Not a bad set of trails, the constant switchbacks keep you from really getting into the groove, but the tight turns are a fun challenge. There are really no climbs in the whole area, which makes for an easy day, but you won't burn out your legs unless you refuse to downshift. Currently there are several trees/large limbs blocking trail sections.

this trail kicked my ass, but i loved every darn
minute of it...also, it finally got my butt in gear (to
stop procrastinating & get clipless pedals. the real
crime is this is about 15 min's from my house, and i
had never even heard about it until a friend turned
me on to it. can't wait to go back!!

This trail is tough for a new rider. My one time back there was before I got into mountain biking, and I had to walk up most hills. It didn't help that I was using pedal stirrups which are hard to get into while trying to get going up a steep hill. Also, when you've just walked up to the top of a hill and you're ready to go donw, it's a little scary to put your feet in stirrups while descending a steep rutted downhill. I've been riding a few months now and I have clipless pedals. I'm going to try GCC again in the late summer. It's considered tough by my boyfriend who is an experienced rider. Basically, if you can't carry speed down a rutted, rooty, rocky hill, you'll pound to get up the next steep hill. You've got to fly on these trails, or else you'll just work hard and burn out your quads. I can't wait for the challenge.

5 mile cross country ride. Short steep climbs/descents, long and flat root covered trails that zig zag in the woods. Hour long ride to do whole trail. Worth it if it is close to you... Go to Wissahickon if you have to do any driving to get here.

There really is nothng better in the area. You will
spend all of your time climbing, descending,
turning or any combination thereof. This along with
the wide variety of obstacles makes for a very
intense course indeed. This course can prepair you
for just about anything you'll find abroad.

Oh, who ever wrote the message about the directions being messed up is messed up. Your best bet is to Map quest. I spent too much time in the morning trying to find that place, by the time I found it the temp. was already climbing. Good ride, a litle something for everyone. Lots of things to play on. Log jumps, creek crossings, steep inclines and declines, very enjoyable........
