Trail Description:
Rocky, wooded single track that follows the north edge of Lookout Point reservoir (hence the name). Primarily a hiking trail, it has some technical areas where the trail dips down to switchbacks, and then pops back up. The climbing is more akin to roller-coaster than actual effort. There are rocky, rutted sections that may be impassable with wet weather, but it's a great trail in the summer with tragic little use.

How to get there:
From Eugene, take Hwy 58 east, just passed mile marker 13 take a left over Dexter reservoir into Lowell. Take a right onto Main Street and then another right, following signs to Lookout Point Dam. Park on north side of dam by boat launch -- trail is marked by the hiker symbol just to left of parking.

Additional Notes:
Be courteous to the hikers.

This is a very fun trail with all sorts of twists and turns. However, the opening stage of the trail is fraught with incredibly thick blackberries at points when we rode (7/15/07) so I would recommend appropriate attire (long sleeves and jeans). We got pretty scratched up!

Fun tight singletrack following the shoreline of the reservoir. Never really seem to see any one on the trail...a good place a weekday after work ride. It's the beginning segment of the Eugene to Pacific Crest trail.
