Just thought Id let you all know that the trail has been cleared for some time now from last winters storm.

5/12/09 This is a fun trail. However, there are spots where trees have fallen and have not yet been cleared. I am not sure if it is from the ice storm or some strong thunderstorms that came through a couple weeks ago. In these areas, you have to get off and climb over or through the limbs and logs. There are some serious rocks on this trail. May be a little difficult for beginners, but doable. Overall, I'd recommend it. You may want to bring a map with you just to make sure you don't get lost.

Last I heard 02/09 trails are months from being reopened. In the words of one park ranger - it's not that they need to be cleared, it's that they don't exist anymore (thanks to the ice storm). Good news is the park is moving ahead with 10 or miles of new single track devoted to MTB. Will be first dedicated MTB trails in any national park.

I ride this trail twice a week at least - love it! Not much in the way of technical or climbing, mainly winding singletrack. Some sections are pretty fast and offer some nice challenges. You may want to call the park and make sure the Green River Ferry is open before making the journey here - if it is closed due to low water, you'll drive an extra hour to get in from the North.
