Trail Description:
This is a combination three purpose built single tracks that run nicely into each other (almost seamlessly). They are winding and flowing, for the most part, really are easy enough for less experienced riders to enjoy. At the same time many advanced riders rate this as one of their favourite mountain bike tracks in Nelson.
How to get there:
Head up the Maitai Valley from Nelson City. Turnleft into Sharland’s Rd (about 5km from the city centre). Follow Sharland’s Rd as it climbs gently for 20 or 30 mins and turn left into the second entrance to Bob’s Fern Rd, follow this to the top and then ride (or walk) up the short steep firebreak. At the top you will see the start.

WStates Trail on 4/28.. It looks HOT sunscreen , extra botlte, (2 is good, 3 if you drink too much, Camel runners whatever) .. LOL..should be a 2 botlte day in both directions. I am going from the cut off of Mosquito to Robinson and 2 will be fine. If I were to run down to Last Chance on THE trail, I would carry an empty third botlte for the return and carry the extra full botlte if WALKING was looming at any point before getting back to Dusty C.. Fill up at the insect infested pipe and return. (hint) you will learn NOTHING on the return by running the trail' run the ROAD from LC to Dusty Corner! if you are training for glory then RUN from LC back to your car in less than 60 min. (it can be done but it might HURT) .carbohydrate replacement at the finish ..remember finish with a SMILE on your FACE and .. a SONG in your HEART!
